Valentines doesn’t have to be a day for loved up couples, it can also be a day to love yourself, sounds mushy? Well I guess that depends how much you go in for the concept of loving the self. I’m a big believer in creating space and time for the things that make me happy.

So with that in mind, I’ve pulled a list together of the many ways for those looking for a little excuse to self love:

You could simply be kind to yourself

Or

Give yourself permission to have a ritual bath and enjoy a break

Or

You could establish a health morning routine

Or

You could look after your body and mind with regular exercise

Other ways could include:

writing yourself a letter – what would you say to yourself if you were your friend?

Setting some intentions – these could be small or long term

Forgiving yourself – do you give yourself a hard time, talk negatively to yourself, berate yourself, perhaps it’s time to stop

Cook your favorite meal – literally go all out on this one or take it ask to basics

Have a date with yourself – doubt be embarrassed to take yourself somewhere, like the cinema to watch that film you wanted to see, or a new restaurant for a meal

Read a book, or

Plan a little solo trip away.

I hope that whatever you do, you are kind to yourself above anything else and let’s be honest – really, these are great tips not just for one day but for every day.
